Edward Regan popularly known as Eddie Murphy is an American actor, singer, writer, director, musician and stand-up comedian. He was born on April 3, 1961 to Lilian, a telephone operator and Charles Edward Murphy, a transit police officer, ameateur actor and comedian. His father died when he was young.
Eddie Murphy got married to Nicole Mitchell at the Grand Ballroom of the Plaza Hotel in New York City on March 18, 1993. Eddie Murphy and Nicole Mitchell have five children together: Bria L. Murphy, Myles Mitchell, Shayne Audra, Zola ivy and Bella Zahra. Eddie Murphy and his wife Nicole Mitchell separated due to irreconcilable differences and the divorce was finalized on April 17, 2006.
Eddie Murphy also has a child by Tamara Hood, son Christian Murphy and another child by Paulette McNeely, son Eric Murphy. He also has a daughter by former Spice Girl Melanie Brown, named Angel Iris Murphy Brown.
On January 1, 2008 Eddie Murphy exchanges marriage vows with film producer Tracey Edmonds, former wife of Kenneth Edmonds (Babyface) in a private ceremony on an island off Bora Bora. On January 16, 2008 (two weeks after the wedding) the couple released a statement saying they have jointly decided to remain friends as it was not necessary to define their relationship further.
Eddie Murphy has donated money to the AIDS Foundation, and Cancer, education, creative arts, family/parent support, health and homeless charities. He has donated to the Martin Luther King Jr. center, various cancer charities and $100,000 to the Screen Actors' Guild's strike relief fund.
