Ali Nuhu is a Nigerian actor and producer. He is one of the most popular actors in the Hausa movie Industry. Ali Nuhu was born on the 15th of March 1974 in Maiduguri town, Borno State. His father Senator Nuhu Poloma was then a Customs Officer and his late mother Hajia Fatima Karderam Digema was a caterer. He got a BSc in Geography from The University of Jos, Nigeria and did his National Youth Service Corp in Ibadan, Oyo State after which he ventured into acting fulltime.
In 1999 he entered the Hausa Movie Industry where he got a break with a movie titled "Abin Sirri Ne" after that came other blockbusters like Dijangala, Dandam Butulu, Wasila, Sangaya, Mujadala etc. which re established him as a force to recon within the Hausa Movie Industry (Kannywood).
Ali Nuhu ventured into Nollywood with the Amstel Malta sponsered movie Sitanda which became such a huge success and earned him Africa's most prestigious award, 'The African Movie Academy Award - AMAA'.
Ali Nuhu has over a 100 Hausa and 50 English movies to his credit. He has won numerous awards including Actor of the Year Award The Future Award 2008, Best upcoming Actor AMAA 2007 with the movie Sitanda, Best Actor Arewa Films Award 2005 with the movie Razani etc.
Ali Nuhu is married to Maimuna Garba Ja Abdulkadir, and they have three children.
